About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated Travel and Expense Management Trainer / Subject Matter Expert to support knowledge transition and capability development within BASF’s Travel and Expense Management team in India. The role will receive process handovers, capture and validate knowledge, and deliver classroom, virtual and on‑the‑job training to new hub colleagues. You will act as the bridge between sending and receiving locations, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and sustainable capability development.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the transition of travel and expense processes from the sending location, participating in walkthroughs, knowledge‑transfer sessions and process validation.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of end‑to‑end travel and expense processes, policy variations, audit rules and exception handling.
- Design, deliver and assess functional training programs covering travel requests, expense auditing, policy compliance, corporate‑card administration and accounting.
- Create and update training materials, user guides, process maps, simulations and job aids.
- Collaborate with process owners, business partners and cross‑functional teams to achieve transition and training objectives across cultures and time zones.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
- 8‑10 years of experience in travel and expense management, expense auditing, corporate‑card administration or shared‑services finance.
- Proven subject‑matter expertise in end‑to‑end travel and expense processes and strong stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience in an MNC, captive centre or Global Capability Center is preferred.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with SAP ERP (ECC and/or S/4HANA) and travel‑and‑expense solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with reporting or workflow tools for expense processing.
