Stores Executive / Storekeeper (Construction Site)

About the role

The Stores Executive/Storekeeper will manage day‑to‑day store operations on a construction project site. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, tracking, and issuing materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the procurement and execution teams.

Key responsibilities

• Receive materials on site, verify against purchase orders, delivery challans and specifications, and prepare Goods Receipt Notes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date inventory records for construction materials, tools and consumables; monitor stock levels and flag shortages.
• Issue materials to engineers, supervisors and subcontractors based on approved requisitions and record outward movements.
• Ensure proper stacking, labeling, and storage conditions to prevent damage, theft or wastage.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation (GRNs, inward/outward registers, stock reports) and support internal audits.
• Assist in periodic physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with procurement and execution teams to ensure timely material availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics or Engineering (preferred).
• Diploma or certification in Material Management / Inventory Management (advantage).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in store management and inventory control, preferably on construction or infrastructure projects.

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction materials and inventory management practices.
• Experience handling material documentation such as GRN, delivery challans and inventory registers.
• Familiarity with ERP systems or inventory management software.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and basic reporting tools.
• Strong documentation and record‑keeping abilities.
