SSA Consultant – Nutrition Expert (7‑month contract)

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking an experienced Nutrition Expert on a Special Services Agreement (SSA) to support its humanitarian operations in India. The consultant will work closely with the Team Lead (CSP) and the Deputy Country Director, providing technical nutrition guidance for programme design, implementation and monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert nutrition advice to design and adapt food assistance interventions.
• Conduct nutrition assessments, surveys and data analysis to inform programme decisions.
• Develop and review nutrition standards, guidelines and training materials.
• Support capacity‑building activities for staff and partners.
• Prepare technical reports, briefs and recommendations for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with WFP nutrition policies and humanitarian standards.

Required profile

• Indian national with a degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a related field.
• Proven experience in nutrition programming within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Familiarity with WFP nutrition guidelines and food security frameworks.
• Ability to work in field settings and travel as required.
• Immediate availability preferred; candidates will undergo a written test.
