Senior Product Manager II – Identity & Access Management

About the role

Appian is looking for a Senior Product Manager II to own the Identity and Access Management (IAM) product roadmap. You will drive the development of enterprise‑grade authentication features that secure connections between Appian’s platform and its customers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and prioritize the end‑to‑end IAM product roadmap, balancing security requirements with developer and user experience.
• Partner with Engineering to design and enhance native authentication and support for protocols such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM, and federated identity frameworks.
• Conduct discovery sessions with enterprise customers to gather requirements on identity provider integrations, compliance, and zero‑trust adoption.
• Translate complex identity protocols into clear product specifications and user stories.
• Align cross‑functional teams—including Security, Sales, and Customer Success—to deliver authentication features that accelerate enterprise adoption.
• Analyze performance metrics, customer feedback, and competitive positioning to continuously improve IAM capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager managing identity and access management products.
• Deep experience with enterprise IAM, user authentication, and identity provider software.
• Strong technical proficiency with authentication protocols such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM, and federated identity architectures.
• Proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver secure, scalable solutions.
