Intermediate Software Engineer – Java Full Stack

About the role

Citi is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to join its Technology team, building and enhancing enterprise‑grade full‑stack solutions using Java Spring Boot and Angular. The role offers meaningful autonomy and the chance to influence technical outcomes in a high‑impact financial services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services with Java Spring Boot and frontend interfaces with Angular, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Translate business and technical requirements into robust full‑stack enhancements.
• Analyse existing applications for vulnerabilities, security gaps and improvement opportunities, performing testing and debugging.
• Collaborate with users, clients and cross‑functional technology teams to diagnose issues and deliver effective solutions.
• Apply scripting tools and code‑analysis techniques to implement system enhancements that meet evolving technical requirements.
• Support and mentor junior analysts, sharing knowledge and guiding problem resolution.

Required profile

• 4+ years of application development experience in the financial services industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to analyse complex technical problems and communicate solutions clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong capability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and adapt to shifting requirements.
