Senior Engineer – CHO Projects Safety

About the role

The Senior Engineer – CHO Projects Safety is responsible for implementing and overseeing safety policies at the site. The role focuses on identifying, mitigating, and escalating risks in line with corporate safety standards, regulations, and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Follow and support the interpretation of established safety policies, processes, and SOPs.
• Assist in launching new safety initiatives and projects to meet future site requirements.
• Participate in internal and third‑party health and safety audits alongside Lead Safety.
• Conduct safety observations, maintain log books, and ensure compliance documentation is up to date.
• Investigate safety incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans.
• Support risk‑management programs, including control‑measure identification and incident investigation.
• Prepare MIS reports, safety updates, and performance metrics for plant management.
• Track leading and lagging safety indicators and drive improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver safety training modules and awareness sessions for site personnel.
• Review near‑miss analyses and recommend focus‑area improvements to line management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation, Chemistry or related engineering/science field.
• Strong knowledge of safety‑related compliance, regulations, and legal requirements.
• Experience with HSE assurance, risk‑management frameworks, fire‑safety management, and incident investigation.
