Senior Design Engineer – Automotive Door Systems

About the role

Magna is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the development of automotive door and closure systems. You will guide a multidisciplinary team, generate innovative concepts, and ensure high‑quality deliverables within project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new concepts and master sections for door and closure systems.
• Provide hands‑on technical guidance to team members.
• Deliver project outputs based on defined work packages with required quality and schedule.
• Own components and sub‑assembly design, ensuring accurate documentation and release.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate designs into vehicle architecture.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical/Production/Automobile or Diploma of Mechanical Engineering (DME).
• 6‑9 years experience for BE holders or 8‑11 years for DME holders.
• Proven experience with complete vehicle systems, especially doors and closures.
• Strong understanding of vehicle architecture (monocoque, space frame, cab‑on‑frame).
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and team‑coordination skills.

• Familiarity with JLR door and closure processes (preferred)
