Senior Accountant – Full-Time (Kolkata)

About the role

Advent Group of Companies is seeking a responsible and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to independently manage day‑to‑day accounting, statutory compliance, banking and financial documentation across multiple group companies in Kolkata. The role also involves supporting the accounting and compliance needs of several subsidiaries within the Advent Group’s education, media, consulting and technology businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day accounts using Tally / Tally Prime, including sales, purchase, receipt, payment and journal entries.
• Prepare and file GST returns and ensure related compliance.
• Handle Professional Tax (P‑Tax) compliance and returns.
• Manage PF & ESI calculations, documentation and statutory filings.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor company bank accounts.
• Oversee accounts receivable and payable, invoice preparation and payment follow‑up.
• Maintain vendor and client ledgers, calculate TDS and coordinate returns.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly closing, generate MIS and basic financial reports for management.
• Coordinate with CA, auditors, banks and government authorities as required.

Required profile

• Graduation in B.Com / M.Com or a relevant accounting qualification.
• 2–5 years of experience in accounts & finance, preferably handling multiple companies.
• Accurate, organised, accountable and deadline‑driven with a willingness to own routine accounting and statutory compliance.
