Punjab SSSB Recruitment 2026 – 70 Clerk, Driver & Translator Posts

About the role

The Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab invites applications for 70 positions across various departments, including Driver, Clerk (Legal/Accounting/IT), Translator and Field Artist roles. These posts are offered on a merit‑based selection process for candidates with the required educational and technical qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform departmental duties such as driving official vehicles, maintaining records, handling legal/accounting/IT tasks, translating documents, and supporting cultural activities.
• Participate in written examinations, typing tests and subsequent document verification and counselling as part of the selection process.

Required profile

• Educational qualifications as specified per post (e.g., Law degree for legal clerks, graduation in Statistics/Mathematics/Accounts for accounting clerks, IT degree for IT clerks, graduation in Music/Drama/Dance for field artists).
• Age limits: minimum 18 years; maximum 37 years (general), 42 years (SC/BC), 45 years for government employees, with relaxations for PwD, ex‑servicemen, widows/divorcees.
• Reservation criteria and women‑reserved vacancies as detailed in the notification.

Required skills

• Valid light and heavy vehicle licence with at least three years driving experience (Driver post).
• Punjabi and English typing speed of at least 30 words per minute (Clerk and Translator posts).
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications (e.g., BCA, B.Tech, IT software) for IT clerk positions.
• Basic proficiency in Punjabi language at Matriculation level for qualifying written test.
