Project Officer

About the role

World Vision India is seeking a Project Officer to lead the planning and execution of its Area Development Programme (ADP) in Sriperumpudur. The role focuses on improving the well‑being of vulnerable children through community‑based interventions and sponsorship integration.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure quality and timely execution of programme activities.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local stakeholders and mobilise resources.
• Produce evidence‑based reports and deliver sponsorship outcomes.
• Provide strong leadership, recruit and retain competent staff, and nurture high performers.
• Support professional development of ADP staff through coaching and action learning.
• Lead child selection and design processes that integrate sponsorship meaningfully.
• Collaborate with the Sponsorship Manager on administration and multi‑year plans.
• Oversee monitoring plans, ensuring all registered children are tracked according to WV India standards.
• Promote and enforce the World Vision Child Protection Policy and respond promptly to incidents.
• Raise awareness for prevention and reporting of child protection issues and involve children appropriately in programme activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Work or related postgraduate qualification.
• Minimum five years’ experience in the development sector.
• Strong contextual knowledge of local community priorities, social and cultural realities.
• Solid understanding of research methodologies, principles and statistics.
