Logistics Dispatch Specialist

About the role

As a Logistics Dispatch Specialist you will coordinate the daily movement of containers, ensuring the most efficient routing and timely delivery of time‑sensitive cargo. You will act as the central point of contact for customers, contract drivers, terminal staff and internal service teams, providing guidance and resolving issues to meet service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, track and optimise container movements across truck, rail and barge modes.
• Communicate daily with customers, contract drivers, terminal personnel and internal representatives to coordinate pickups, deliveries and resolve issues.
• Dispatch work orders for land‑side transport and monitor timelines, reporting any delays proactively.
• Maintain accurate documentation for equipment tracking, cost management and container activity.
• Update internal systems with appointments, drays and equipment status.
• Authorize equipment drops, monitor container idling and provide vendor feedback to procurement.
• Develop and sustain positive relationships with customers, terminal operators and truck vendors.
• Process all required paperwork promptly and support the team in a fast‑paced environment.
