Forest Guard (with Driving Licence) – Tamil Nadu Forest Department

About the role

The Tamil Nadu Forest Department is recruiting candidates for the post of Forest Guard and Forest Guard with Driving Licence. Selected individuals will be responsible for protecting forest resources, preventing illegal activities, and assisting in the management of protected areas across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol forest areas to detect and deter illegal logging, poaching, and other violations.
• Assist in fire prevention, detection, and control measures.
• Support forest management activities, including plantation, conservation, and community outreach.
• Maintain records of patrols, incidents, and enforcement actions.
• Operate and maintain any assigned vehicles or equipment, where a driving licence is required.

Required profile

• Completed at least 10th standard (or equivalent).
• For the driving‑licence posts, a valid driving licence is mandatory.
• Physically fit and able to meet the department’s physical standards and endurance test.
• Willingness to work in remote and forested locations.
