Fire & Safety Officer

About the role

The Fire & Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of fire protection systems, fire pump rooms, and smoke ventilation equipment across the property. The role involves daily monitoring, preventive maintenance, and coordination of emergency response activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain fire pump room equipment, including pressure gauges, diesel engine oil, battery condition, valves, and fuel levels.
• Verify operation of fire water tanks, beacon lights, and ensure pumps are leakage‑free.
• Control smoke ventilation, pressurization, and exhaust fans to remain in auto mode.
• Conduct quarterly evacuation drills and train security guards on fire safety procedures.
• Inspect hot‑work areas, PPE, signage, lift lobby clearance, and emergency exits.
• Perform equipment maintenance for fire and security systems, including indicator bulbs, drainage, and fire line valves.
• Participate in HSE meetings, incident investigations, safety committee sessions, and ensure timely corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fire safety operations or a related field.
• Familiarity with fire pump, diesel engine, and ventilation system maintenance.
• Ability to conduct evacuation drills and train personnel on safety protocols.
• Strong observational skills to identify unsafe conditions and enforce corrective measures.
