About the role

The Director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Research leads the academic and administrative functions of a PCI‑approved pharmacy institute. This senior position provides strategic vision, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives research and innovation across all pharmacy programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Set academic direction for D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D and Ph.D programmes, overseeing curriculum design, delivery and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with PCI, AICTE, university regulations and manage accreditation processes (NAAC, NBA, NIRF).
• Administer day‑to‑day operations, including policy development, infrastructure management, timetabling and supervision of department heads and staff.
• Recruit, mentor and evaluate faculty, promote professional development, research output and industry collaborations.
• Foster research activities, secure grants, establish innovation cells and support publication in reputed journals.
• Oversee student welfare, co‑curricular activities, placement initiatives and grievance redressal.
• Liaise with industry partners, regulatory bodies and external stakeholders to enhance the institute’s reputation.

Required profile

• First Class B.Pharm with M.Pharm (or Pharm.D) recognized by PCI, and a Ph.D. in a pharmacy discipline.
• Registration as a pharmacist with the State Pharmacy Council.
• Minimum 15 years of teaching or research experience, including at least 5 years as Professor or Head of Department in a PCI‑approved college.
• Demonstrated administrative experience in a senior academic role.
