Demi Chef de Partie – Asian Cuisine

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Demi Chef de Partie specialized in Asian cuisine to join our hotel kitchen in Chennai. The role involves preparing high‑quality dishes, supporting the Chef, and ensuring smooth service during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Asian menu items according to recipes, presentation standards and food safety guidelines.
• Regulate ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and monitor temperature controls.
• Thaw and store ingredients properly, maintain food logs and ensure correct portioning and garnish.
• Communicate with service staff about menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess food for daily specials.
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating kitchen staff as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, report maintenance issues and maintain a clean, professional work environment.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen, preferably with Asian cuisine.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in preparing Asian dishes and using kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills and roasters.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent quality.
