About the role
Join the culinary team at JW Marriott Goa as a Continental Commis, supporting the preparation and service of high‑quality dishes in a fast‑paced hotel kitchen. You will work closely with chefs to ensure ingredients are ready, meals are cooked to standard, and the work area remains clean and safe.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
- Cook and assemble dishes, including cold foods, while adhering to quality, presentation and safety standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Test food for doneness, monitor temperature of appliances and food, and adjust as needed.
- Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, tools and equipment.
- Follow company safety policies, report hazards, and complete required safety training.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry objects up to 25 lb.
Required skills
- Food preparation and portioning.
- Operation of ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.
- Food safety and hygiene practices.
