Construction Engineer

About the role

Alfa Laval is seeking a Construction Engineer to join its Process Engineering Services (PES) team in Pune. The role supports the design, erection and commissioning of process plants for water purification, clean energy, food production and other sustainable applications.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site personnel, including hiring, motivation and administration.
• Allocate resources, distribute work, and monitor progress on construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal rules and the “6 Basics” for safe and quality execution.
• Track installation quality, costs, construction hours and prepare project reviews.
• Act as KPI owner for the department and support pre‑bid activities.
• Participate in site review meetings with customers, consultants and suppliers.
• Recommend monthly invoicing and provide cost provisions for erection and commissioning.
• Oversee health and safety implementation and daily reporting.

Required profile

• 5‑9 years of experience in construction project execution, preferably on international or MNC Indian projects.
• Good knowledge of process‑plant construction activities (structure, erection, piping, electrical systems).
• Understanding of labour laws and ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using MS Project or other project‑management tools.
