Communications Advisor – Associate (Bangalore)

About the role

ExxonMobil is expanding its presence in India and seeks a dynamic Communications Advisor to lead strategic communication efforts for its Bangalore business, engineering, and technology center. The role will shape the brand narrative, drive media engagement, and support senior leaders across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute communications strategies aligned with ExxonMobil’s Bangalore priorities.
• Create compelling written, video, and multimedia content for internal and external audiences.
• Oversee the social‑media presence of the Bangalore site and senior leaders, leveraging channels to boost engagement.
• Provide brand guidance, review materials, and ensure consistent voice and image.
• Build and maintain relationships with news media to amplify business initiatives.
• Identify external communication opportunities, support public speaking events, and craft speeches.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, delivering actionable insights.
• Monitor social and news media, anticipate issues, and provide timely analysis and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public affairs, marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of corporate communications experience in a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of the Indian social‑media and news landscape, politics, and culture.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to turn strategy into action.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; fluency in English required, Kannada preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and influence diverse stakeholders.
