About the role
The Westin Mumbai Garden City is seeking a motivated Commis II to support the culinary team in delivering high‑quality food service. This full‑time, on‑site position involves preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
- Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Monitor food temperature, test doneness, and ensure food safety compliance.
- Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area and tools.
- Follow company safety policies, report incidents, and complete required safety training.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related food‑preparation experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
Required skills
- Food preparation and portioning.
- Operating kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, microwaves).
- Food safety and temperature monitoring.
