Clinical Database Programmer

About the role

The Clinical Database Programmer will provide technical support and oversight for Medidata Clinical Cloud (MCC) implementation activities. Acting as the MCC subject‑matter expert, the role ensures high‑quality electronic data capture programming and data management for clinical studies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain clinical databases, including forms, folders, matrices, edit checks, derivations and custom functions.
• Perform peer reviews of databases built by other programmers and ensure compliance with EDC standards.
• Manage timely delivery of database builds and related deliverables for assigned protocols.
• Provide guidance on Medidata Rave functionality and best practices to data‑management and operations teams.
• Maintain knowledge of additional Medidata modules such as Coder, RTSM, Lab Admin and iMedidata/Cloud Admin.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 2+ years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
• Strong ability to work independently, communicate effectively and manage multiple priorities.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C# programming.
• Expert knowledge of Medidata Clinical Cloud (MCC) – especially Rave EDC capabilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Project and Excel.
• Familiarity with ICH/GCP guidelines and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
• Knowledge of ePRO, IVRS/IWRS, CTMS and data‑reporting tools such as Business Objects, JReview, Cognos or Crystal Reports.
