Chartered Accountant – Indirect Taxation (Fresher)

About the role

We are seeking a fresher Chartered Accountant specialized in indirect taxation to support our Mumbai team in advisory and compliance services for GST, VAT and Service Tax.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the team during new client pitches and new assignments.
• Prepare draft proposals outlining the detailed scope of work for advisory and compliance services.
• Support risk assessment processes before initiating engagements.
• Provide advisory services, including research review, tax implication analysis, client liaison and preparation of replies or opinions.
• Prepare and review tax computations and periodic GST returns.
• Ensure client timelines and statutory due dates are met.
• Assist during VAT, Service Tax and GST audits or assessments, handling document review, liaison with authorities and submission of replies.
• Support litigation matters by analysing notices, drafting appeals and coordinating with tax authorities.
• Communicate indirect tax updates to clients and the team, and guide team members on indirect tax concepts.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualification (expected Jan 2026 or May 2026).
• Fresher level candidate willing to work in Mumbai.

• Understanding of indirect tax regulations and ability to interpret client requirements.
