Associate – GST Advisory & Litigation (Indirect Tax)

About the role

We are seeking an Associate to join our GST Advisory & Litigation team in Pune. The role involves providing expert indirect tax advice, handling litigation matters, and supporting clients with compliance and strategic tax planning.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research and analysis of GST legal provisions.
• Draft advisory opinions, compliance reports, and legal submissions.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for client meetings, trainings and seminars.
• Analyze client data to estimate tax impact and design tax‑efficient business models.
• Handle tax matters including notice replies, appeals and representation before tax authorities.
• Manage a portfolio of smaller clients with near‑independent responsibility.
• Identify new business opportunities for existing clients and contribute to firm knowledge bases.

Required profile

• CA (preferably first attempt) or LLB from a recognized law school with strong academic record.
• 1‑4 years of experience in indirect tax advisory and litigation.
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills.
• Professional demeanor and ability to work independently.
