Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracts & Legal Tech

About the role

FNZ is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its global business by delivering high‑quality legal assistance across commercial contracting activities. The role focuses on contract drafting, review, lifecycle management and the adoption of legal technology to enhance efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including technology, SaaS, supplier, licensing and services agreements under supervision.
• Support global client contracts through onboarding, renewals, amendments and day‑to‑day queries.
• Assist with intra‑group agreements between regulated and non‑regulated FNZ entities worldwide.
• Identify legal and contractual risks and escalate to senior team members.
• Support regulatory and compliance matters such as data protection and outsourcing requirements.
• Provide pre‑litigation support, document review and coordination with external counsel.
• Maintain and use FNZ’s standard templates, playbooks and legal processes.
• Utilise FNZ’s Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and AI platforms for contract intake, drafting, redlining, approvals and execution.
• Leverage AI‑enabled legal assistants for efficient contract review and issue identification.
• Contribute to reporting, audits and data‑quality initiatives through consistent use of legal technology tools.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in commercial contracting, preferably from a law firm or in‑house team.
• LL.B. from a recognised university in India; additional training in commercial, technology or data‑protection law is a plus.
• Interest in financial services, fintech, SaaS or platform‑based business models.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work with global stakeholders across time zones.

Required skills

• Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms.
• Familiarity with contract AI tools and other legal‑technology solutions.
