Associate – Corporate & International Tax (Bengaluru)

About the role

At PwC, the Associate in Corporate & International Tax will provide comprehensive advice on domestic corporate income tax, international taxation, cross‑border transactions and related matters, supporting clients with complex tax issues and litigation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical research on domestic and international tax laws, OECD publications and internal knowledge bases.
• Advise clients on complex corporate tax matters such as permanent establishments, anti‑avoidance rules, double tax treaties and transfer pricing.
• Support pre‑ and post‑acquisition tax advisory work, group restructuring, diligence and documentation reviews.
• Prepare memos, presentations and opinions; handle assessment and appellate proceedings with tax authorities.
• Assist clients with ongoing compliance, including income‑tax returns and TDS computations, leveraging delivery centre teams and tax technology tools.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 0‑2 years of relevant experience, or a commerce graduate with at least five years of relevant experience.
• Experience or articleship in a Big 4 firm or prior corporate tax exposure is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Direct Tax, Corporate Tax (Income Tax & DTAA), FEMA and Transfer Pricing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office and report writing.
