Assistant/Associate Professor – Interior Design (B.Des.)

About the role

The institution is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor to join its Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) program in Coimbatore. The role involves delivering academic leadership, teaching, and research activities to enhance the quality of interior design education.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing the syllabus and curriculum for the Interior Design program.
• Conduct theory classes, design studios, and hands‑on workshops.
• Support the establishment and management of design labs and material libraries.
• Mentor students on academic projects, research, and industry collaborations.
• Participate in admissions activities, including counseling prospective students and conducting entrance assessments.
• Engage in research, design competitions, and scholarly publications.
• Contribute to academic planning, accreditation processes, and inter‑departmental coordination.
• Build partnerships with industry firms for internships, live projects, and guest lectures.
• Organise seminars, workshops, and exhibitions showcasing student work and research.

Required profile

• B.Des and M.Des (or equivalent) in Interior Design from a reputed institution.
• PhD in Interior Design or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor design students.
• Willingness to contribute to curriculum development and research activities.
