Assistant Financial Controller – Taxation

About the role

Experian is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller specialized in Taxation to support its Hyderabad business unit. The role will oversee tax compliance, accounting operations, and provide strategic insights to the Country Controller.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the APA (Advance Pricing Agreement) application process, reviewing documentation and communicating updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the global tax team and external consultants to ensure accurate information flow.
• Collaborate with business owners, conduct functional interviews, and compile workflows for the Hyderabad unit.
• Prepare and represent tax submissions before Assessing Officers, Dispute Resolution Panels, and the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.
• Support corporate tax return preparation, transfer pricing studies, and monthly/quarterly WHT filings.
• Review financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow projections, and provide actionable financial insights.
• Lead operating expense monitoring, fund management for GIC, and act as primary contact for internal and external auditors.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, inter‑company billing, and support the Country Controller with strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Strong background in direct and indirect tax compliance, including APA and transfer pricing.
• Experience preparing corporate tax returns and managing WHT filings.
• Proven ability to analyze financial data and produce strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with tax authorities, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively with global tax teams and external consultants.
