Asian Kitchen Commis

About the role

The Asian Kitchen Commis supports the culinary team at Marriott International in Pune by preparing and cooking a variety of Asian dishes, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely service. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with chefs and front‑of‑house staff to deliver a seamless dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures and monitor food quality.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration units and maintain accurate food logs.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, garnish, and adherence to food safety guidelines.
• Communicate with chefs about excess inventory for daily specials and inform service staff of menu updates and out‑of‑stock items.
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating team members as needed.
• Follow all company safety, security, and uniform policies and report any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school qualification in culinary arts or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and work in a fast‑paced environment.
