Area Sales Manager

About the role

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and profitability within a designated city or branch. Working closely with the Regional Sales Manager, the role focuses on achieving targets while ensuring compliance with sales processes and risk guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute the area sales and business growth strategy in alignment with regional objectives.
• Collaborate with Risk, Operations, and Sales Governance teams to maintain portfolio health and adhere to approval matrices.
• Identify and address under‑performance, implement process improvements, and capitalize on channel optimisation opportunities.
• Support complex cases, remove bottlenecks, and provide hands‑on guidance to team members.
• Drive cross‑selling of ABHFL and ABC products/solutions according to regional plans and client needs.
• Create a sales operating plan considering local competition, existing relationships, and new prospect opportunities.
• Increase market share for a new brand, ensuring high loan conversion, sanction, and utilisation rates.
• Maintain credit quality through effective pre‑screening and portfolio selection to minimise potential NPAs.
• Ensure all sales activities remain compliant despite market pressures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales management within a financial services or banking environment.
• Strong understanding of risk management, loan processing, and portfolio health.
• Ability to analyse local market dynamics and develop actionable sales plans.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building capabilities.
• Track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share.
