Accountant & Cashier – Finance & Accounts

About the role

MNR University seeks a diligent Accountant & Cashier to oversee daily accounting operations, manage cash transactions, and handle student fee collections. The role requires accurate bookkeeping, cash handling, and preparation of financial records in compliance with university policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day books of accounts using Tally or other accounting software.
• Record receipts, payments, journal and contra entries and prepare vouchers and invoices.
• Handle daily cash receipts, payments, deposits and petty cash, and keep the cash book up to date.
• Collect student fees, issue receipts and maintain cash‑collection records.
• Perform regular cash and bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash flow.
• Process vendor bills, manage accounts payable and receivable, and verify invoices.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and prepare management reports.
• Support internal and external auditors by providing required documentation.

Required profile

• B.Com or equivalent; M.Com/MBA (Finance) is an advantage.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in accounting, cash handling and Tally, preferably in an educational institution.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping and statutory compliance.
