Welding Coordinator – EN 15085 & ISO 3834 Compliance

About the role

The Welding Coordinator will lead all welding activities for railway vehicle and component manufacturing, ensuring strict adherence to EN 15085 and ISO 3834 standards. You will act as the central point of contact for welding procedures, welder qualifications, and production monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate welding from contract review through final inspection, guaranteeing compliance with approved WPS, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
• Maintain EN 15085 certification and ISO 3834 quality requirements, supporting audits and certification assessments.
• Prepare, review, approve, and manage Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welder Qualification Records.
• Plan and verify welder qualification and re‑qualification, maintaining a qualification matrix and skill records.
• Monitor shop‑floor welding activities, ensuring correct weld identification, process parameters, and productivity.
• Control welding consumables, traceability, and material certificates before welding.
• Coordinate visual inspection and NDT, review inspection reports, and manage repair welding in line with standards.
• Maintain comprehensive quality documentation and lead root‑cause analysis for welding defects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in welding coordination within railway or heavy‑industry manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of EN 15085 and ISO 3834 requirements.
• Experience with welding procedure qualification and welder certification processes.
• Ability to work closely with production, quality, and audit teams.
