Web Development Specialist

About the role

Sovos is seeking a Web Development Specialist to design, develop, and optimise scalable web platforms within WordPress and Drupal ecosystems. The role blends deep CMS expertise with modern frontend development and marketing‑technology integration to deliver high‑performing, data‑driven digital experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and ongoing maintenance of WordPress and Drupal sites, including custom themes, modules and plugins.
• Build modern, scalable frontend components using JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Implement and manage analytics tracking frameworks such as Google Tag Manager and GA4.
• Design and manage integrations with third‑party platforms including CRM, marketing automation and design systems.
• Architect and maintain REST APIs, webhooks and headless/decoupled CMS solutions.
• Optimize websites for Core Web Vitals, SEO and accessibility standards.
• Define and enforce best practices for code quality, security and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with marketing, analytics and design teams to deliver business‑aligned solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience developing with WordPress and/or Drupal.
• Strong proficiency in PHP with an object‑oriented approach.
• Solid experience with JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Experience with React or similar modern frameworks (preferred).
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and SCSS.
• Experience implementing analytics solutions (GTM, GA4) and integrating third‑party platforms.
• Ability to design and maintain REST APIs, webhooks and headless CMS architectures.
• Understanding of performance optimisation, SEO and accessibility best practices.
• Collaborative mindset for cross‑functional teamwork.
