Web Development Specialist – Digital Engineering & MarTech

About the role

Sovos is looking for a Web Development Specialist to drive the creation and evolution of high‑performing digital platforms that support its global tax compliance solutions. You will work at the intersection of content management, modern frontend development, and marketing technology integration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of WordPress and Drupal sites, building custom themes, modules, and plugins.
• Develop scalable frontend components using JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript and, where appropriate, React.
• Design, implement, and maintain REST APIs, webhooks, and headless/decoupled CMS architectures.
• Optimize websites for Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility, and overall performance.
• Collaborate with marketing, analytics, and design teams to deliver data‑driven solutions.
• Implement analytics frameworks (GTM, GA4) and integrate tracking with CRM and marketing automation platforms.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
• Define best practices for code quality, security, scalability, and ensure high availability of enterprise‑grade sites.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with WordPress and/or Drupal.
• Strong PHP (object‑oriented) background and deep understanding of CMS architecture.
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and front‑end technologies.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and headless CMS solutions.
• Track record of performance optimisation, security hardening, and CI/CD pipeline usage.
