Warehouse & Distribution Manager

About the role

Kennametal is seeking an experienced Warehouse & Distribution Manager to lead its Distribution Center in Bangalore. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end warehouse operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance while supporting the company’s industrial technology business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse activities – receiving, storage, shipping, returns, scrap, security, and 5S implementation.
• Manage the Central Stores for raw materials, consumables, packaging, and spares, as well as the VendorCell.
• Lead, train, hire, and dismiss the warehouse team, monitoring performance and development.
• Coordinate import, export, and local deliveries across India.
• Monitor and evaluate 3PL, broker, and carrier performance.
• Plan and control the warehouse budget, ensuring cost targets are met.
• Ensure safety, EHS, and trade‑compliance standards are upheld.
• Collaborate with corporate and regional logistics teams and interact with internal functions (manufacturing, sales, QA, finance, legal, HR) and external partners (customs, customers, suppliers).

Required profile

• 10+ years in logistics operations (warehouse, transportation, import/export) with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in logistics, business administration, or international trade (preferred).
• Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Proven compliance mindset, high responsibility, and self‑driven attitude.

Required skills

• SAP experience (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
