VP UX Designer, Product Development

About the role

Barclays is hiring a VP UX Designer for its Product Development & Management business area, based in Bengaluru. The role manages product development UX and sets its strategic direction, supports the bank's senior management team and manages product development risk across the organisation. It is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for product development UX, including implementing up-to-date methodologies and processes
• Manage product development UX initiatives, oversee colleagues and their performance, implement departmental goals and monitor department efficiency and effectiveness
• Build relationships with product development UX stakeholders and maintain the quality of external third-party services
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for product development UX
• Manage product development UX risk, including mitigation strategies and alignment with compliance functions
• Monitor the financial performance of the department, including revenue, profitability and cost control
• Conduct market research on trends, competition and regulation to identify opportunities

Required profile

• Experience conceptualizing, designing and implementing user-centric digital banking products aligned with customer needs, best practice and business objectives
• Experience monitoring design impact after launch through CX metrics
• Experience collaborating with product managers, developers and business analysts to turn business requirements into user experiences
• Experience advocating design principles, building prototypes and wireframes, iterating on feedback and assessing technical feasibility, legal compliance and risks
• Experience in user research, usability testing and data analysis to inform design decisions
• Knowledge of fintech and banking design trends and tools

The role is open to both leaders and individual contributors: leaders are expected to plan resources, budgets and policies, coach employees and influence stakeholders, while individual contributors act as subject matter experts guiding technical direction and mentoring specialists.
