Vegetarian Pizza Chef

About the role

Basil & Soy is seeking a dedicated Pizza Chef to join its vegetarian kitchen in Bengaluru. You will be responsible for creating a range of vegetarian pizzas that blend Italian tradition with Asian flavors, ensuring each dish meets the restaurant’s high standards of taste, texture, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare dough, sauces, and assemble toppings for classic and specialty vegetarian pizzas.
• Bake pizzas to specified quality standards and monitor cooking times.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and adhere to hygiene and safety protocols.
• Manage inventory of pizza‑related ingredients and assist with stock rotation.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new pizza recipes that reflect the restaurant’s fusion concept.
• Coordinate with front‑of‑house staff during service to ensure timely order delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience in pizza making or a similar culinary role within a restaurant or pizzeria.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and portion control.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a respectful and inclusive attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Formal culinary training or certification is a plus but not mandatory.
