UG Technician

About the role

The UG Technician is responsible for maintaining network service level agreements (SLA) and ensuring a 99.99% uptime across the telecom infrastructure. The role involves hands‑on field work, coordination with vendors and operators, and 24/7 support to achieve rapid fault restoration.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain SLA targets, including MTTR of 4 hours and overall network uptime.
• Lead the Field Response Team (FRT) to meet SLA and turnaround time commitments.
• Process new connectivity, perform acceptance tests, and update databases (ABD, HDD reports, fiber details).
• Coordinate third‑party HDD clearances, ring closures for aerial and underground routes, and liaise with civic authorities.
• Handle in‑building solutions end‑to‑end and support project, planning, and sales teams.
• Generate daily reports on patrols, cuts, and fault rectifications; ensure field teams are available 24 × 7.
• Manage vendor interactions for temporary and permanent fault remediation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in telecom field operations and network maintenance.
• Ability to manage and motivate field teams under pressure.
• Strong coordination skills with multiple operators and authorities.
• Experience with acceptance testing and database updates for network assets.
