Technology Manager – Petrochemical Purification

About the role

The Technology Manager – Petrochemical Purification will provide technical consulting and design proposals for Adsorbent Solutions across the Asia‑Pacific region, with a focus on South Asia. Working within BASF’s global team, you will support business development, drive growth in petrochemicals, and ensure customer success.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical consulting and design proposals for petrochemical purification to customers, project owners, licensors and EPCs.
• Provide input on performance warranty offers and technical value propositions to support pricing aligned with global marketing and sales.
• Offer on‑site customer consultation and manage product quality issues through the non‑conformance system.
• Present at conferences, seminars and licensor forums to gather market intelligence and promote business development.
• Build an opportunity pipeline with sales and marketing by communicating the value of BASF’s high‑performance portfolio.
• Identify optimal product/technology solutions based on customer and market needs.
• Generate market‑driven ideas for incremental innovations and improve design tools in collaboration with the technical team.
• Coordinate with other BASF divisions to deliver complete solutions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of technical experience in oil and gas processing; 2+ years in a customer‑facing role is preferred.
• Experience in process engineering or process design, including preparation of technical proposals using simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a global, cross‑functional team.
• Strong analytical abilities and professional written and verbal communication skills.
