Technician – Control Room & Filling Operations

About the role

Castrol is seeking a Technician to join its Silvassa plant, responsible for operating the control room and overseeing the filling and blending processes. The role offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment within a global leader in lubricants, contributing to safe and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Control room operation: start, monitor, and adjust production batches.
• Analyze raw material usage and manage raw material issues.
• Prepare and maintain filling logs, batch cards, and work orders.
• Coordinate with QC to provide samples and collect approved batch cards.
• Perform routine maintenance of filling lines, including air flushing, pigging, and barrel marking.
• Report finished goods in JDE 9.1 and manage filling loss calculations.
• Execute automated blending plans and respond to high‑level safety alarms.
• Conduct stock‑take, handover activities, and daily logbook entries.

Required profile

• Experience in control‑room or process‑technology operations within a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to assess critical issues and manage emergency shutdowns.
• Strong attention to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Good communication skills to liaise with production, QC, and maintenance teams.

Required skills

• JDE 9.1 ERP usage for batch reporting.
• Control room operation and automated blending execution.
• Filling line maintenance (air flushing, pigging, barrel marking).
• Raw material usage analysis and management.
• Safety alarm monitoring and response.
