Taxation Team Member – Direct Tax Compliance

About the role

The Taxation Team Member will support Aditya Birla Finance Limited in meeting all direct tax obligations. This role involves preparing and filing statutory returns, responding to tax notices, and ensuring compliance with Indian income tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file Income Tax Returns, quarterly TDS returns, monthly TDS payments, SFT returns and related tax audit documentation.
• Respond promptly to notices issued by the Income Tax Department, providing accurate data and analysis.
• Collect, consolidate and analyse tax data from multiple internal sources before submission.
• Coordinate with Business Heads, FP&A, Finance & Accounts, CFO, CEO and other functional teams to ensure timely delivery of tax deliverables.
• Participate in project execution, including UAT testing, bug reporting, automation initiatives and new system implementations.
• Handle ad‑hoc statutory audit requests, management reporting and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Identify, design and implement process re‑engineering solutions to increase efficiency and productivity.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Indian direct tax laws, income tax assessments and tax audit procedures.
• Experience in preparing and filing corporate tax returns and TDS filings.
• Ability to collate data from diverse sources, perform detailed analysis and communicate gaps.
• Proven capability to work with senior stakeholders across finance, risk, IT and operations.
• Experience in managing tax‑related projects, automation or system implementation is a plus.
