Tax Manager

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Tax Manager to lead the preparation of interim and annual tax provisions and related SEC disclosures. The role will be based in Gurgaon and operates in a hybrid model, supporting both US federal tax filings and global tax analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate income tax provision calculations under ASC 740.
• Support the preparation of tax footnote disclosures for Forms 10‑Q and 10‑K.
• Coordinate and review global tax provision submissions, including regional filings.
• Maintain accurate tax balances in financial statements and the annual Tax Basis Balance Sheet for US GAAP.
• Assist with consolidated federal tax returns, including tax adjustments and compliance filings.
• Perform monthly and quarterly tax account reconciliations.
• Ensure processes comply with internal controls and Sarbanes‑Oxley documentation.
• Collaborate with Tax, Controllership, Treasury, FP&A, and other cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred; advanced degrees (MST, MSA, MBA) a plus.
• Experience in large corporate tax provision/reporting or Big 4 background.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work with large data sets and extract relevant information.
• Proven research capability on complex tax technical issues.
• Effective communication of tax impacts to stakeholders.
