Tax and Compliance Officer – Global Business Services

About the role

Qatar Airways is seeking a Tax and Compliance Officer to join its Global Business Services hub in Ahmedabad. The role ensures full compliance with tax, corporate and related regulations, handling tax computations, filings and reporting for the airline’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of global e‑invoicing, ensuring adherence to country‑specific VAT/GST rules.
• Prepare, review and file all tax‑related compliance documents, including returns and financial statements.
• Compute tax liabilities in line with local legislation and manage timely payments.
• Support monthly financial tax statements for outstations and analyse tax receivables and payables.
• Control financial risk for the tax unit, propose solutions for deviations and oversee their implementation.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification in taxation or a professional accounting certificate (CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ICWA, LLB, MBA Finance).
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in aviation finance.
• Strong understanding of global e‑invoicing frameworks, VAT/GST compliance and local tax laws.
• Ability to explain financial and management accounts to both finance and non‑finance audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
• Experience with tax engines, API integration and data mapping.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel).
• Knowledge of corporate tax, GST, withholding and payroll taxes, and accounting standards.
