Tax Accounting Manager

About the role

The Tax Accounting Manager will lead tax planning and compliance activities for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely filing of returns in line with Indian tax regulations. Based on‑site in Dehradun, the role combines technical tax expertise with team leadership and client advisory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee tax planning and compliance for a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate filing of returns in accordance with Indian tax laws.
• Review and supervise the preparation of tax returns, working papers and supporting documentation.
• Analyze financial statements to identify tax implications, optimization opportunities and associated risks.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of tax professionals, allocating workload and ensuring quality of deliverables.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external auditors and global network firms during tax assessments, audits and litigation matters.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and contribute to process improvements and business development initiatives.

Required profile

• CA or equivalent professional qualification in accounting/taxation with post‑qualification experience in public practice or advisory.
• Proven experience in tax advisory, planning and compliance for Indian entities.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and their tax impact.
• Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and research skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and presentation.
