Systems & Cloud Engineer – Azure & Microsoft 365

About the role

We are looking for a Systems & Cloud Engineer to own and operate our internal IT and Azure environment. The role moves beyond reactive ticket handling to delivering a secure, automated, and reliable platform that supports our window‑and‑door software business.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, right‑size and govern Microsoft Azure resources, including cost management, monitoring, tagging and implementing Azure Advisor and security recommendations.
• Maintain on‑premises and cloud servers, storage, networking and telecommunications, planning upgrades before they become emergencies.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID (identity, conditional access, MFA, least‑privilege access) and manage the full joiner‑mover‑leaver lifecycle.
• Manage endpoint and email security with Microsoft Defender, triage alerts in Microsoft Sentinel, and enforce security controls, data governance (Microsoft Purview) and compliance initiatives.
• Provision, configure and enforce compliance of devices through Microsoft Intune, moving towards zero‑touch deployment.
• Provide responsive end‑user support with clear SLAs, handling hardware, software and access issues.
• Automate recurring IT tasks using PowerShell and platform automation, reducing manual effort over time.
• Introduce and govern AI‑assisted tools such as Microsoft Copilot for administration, AI‑driven monitoring, anomaly detection and ticket deflection.

Required profile

• Proactive ownership mindset with a focus on automation and security‑first operations.
• Ability to document system performance baselines and report proactively.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to define safe AI usage guidelines.
