System Engineering Project Manager – Rolling stock

About the role

We are seeking a System Engineering Project Manager to lead complex rolling‑stock projects for Siemens Mobility in India. The role combines technical system‑engineering expertise with end‑to‑end project management to deliver rail‑vehicle solutions on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives and technical requirements together with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocation and milestones.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of system engineers, software developers and other specialists, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient utilisation.
• Monitor and control project budget, implement cost‑control measures and report key performance indicators.
• Identify, analyse and mitigate technical, operational and organisational risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the liaison between the Rolling Stock Business Unit and the Engineering Centre India, facilitating communication with customers, executives and cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale system‑engineering projects in the rail or transportation sector.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work on‑site in Bangalore or Pune and coordinate with global teams.
