System Engineer – Global Integrated Operations

About the role

Vultr is building its first Global Integrated Operations Command Center (GIOC) in Chennai to provide 24x7 monitoring, triage, and first‑response for its cloud infrastructure. As a Systems Engineer you will be the initial point of contact for incidents across compute, storage, operating systems, and virtualization, ensuring rapid, accurate response in a fast‑paced, alert‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor health signals of the systems estate from a unified dashboard.
• Acknowledge alerts and incidents within defined first‑response SLA targets.
• Perform initial review of alerts, recent changes, and CMDB data before acting.
• Classify incidents by severity and customer impact, routing them to the appropriate tower (Systems, Network, Security).
• Execute documented runbooks to resolve common issues.
• Escalate complex problems to Senior Systems Engineers with clear documentation.
• Maintain accurate, complete records of all actions taken during incidents.

Required profile

• Comfortable working rotational shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) to ensure 24x7 coverage.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to quickly assess alerts and determine appropriate actions.
• Excellent communication skills for clear incident documentation and escalation.
• Interest in growing towards SRE, systems, or platform engineering roles.
