System Administrator – VMware & Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

Synechron is seeking an experienced System Administrator to manage and support a diverse set of enterprise platforms, including virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud services. The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and collaboration with global teams to ensure high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform health checks, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting across VMware components such as vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, vRA, SRM, VDI and vSAN.
• Support enterprise storage solutions (Dell PowerStore, Unity, Cohesity) and cloud storage (AWS FSx).
• Maintain backup platforms including Avamar, IDPA, Dell Data Domain and Backupify.
• Administer Linux and Windows Server environments – patching, deployment, clustering and updates.
• Manage Citrix technologies (CVAD, NetScaler, XenDesktop, ControlUp) and file‑transfer processes (WSFTP, PGP, job scheduling).
• Monitor systems using SolarWinds, Data Insights, CloudIQ and respond to alerts, escalating incidents as needed.
• Support Azure AD, Power BI, SharePoint and other enterprise applications.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks and ensure coverage across global shifts.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in system administration or engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills; ability to work independently during night shifts.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems.
