System Administrator

About the role

66degrees is looking for a highly skilled System Administrator to join its Managed Services team. You will be responsible for securing, stabilising, and automating a complex hybrid environment that spans Windows and Linux platforms as well as Google Cloud resources.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end patching lifecycle for Windows Server (2016‑2022) and Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Analyse vulnerability scan results from tools such as Nessus, Qualys or Rapid7, prioritise risks and execute remediation plans.
• Maintain compliance records and reporting to meet Managed Services SLAs and audit requirements.
• Provision, configure and maintain GCP resources including Compute Engine, VPCs, IAM and Cloud Storage.
• Monitor cloud performance and cost, applying scaling policies for efficiency and high availability.
• Automate configuration and deployment using Ansible playbooks and roles.
• Create and maintain immutable machine images (Golden Images) with Packer for multi‑cloud and on‑premise consistency.

Required profile

• Expert‑level knowledge of Windows Server (2016‑2022) and major Linux distros.
• Proficiency with GCP (Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Architect preferred) and familiarity with other public clouds (AWS, Azure).
• Hands‑on experience with Ansible and Packer for Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience using patching tools such as WSUS, SCCM, Azure Update Manager or Linux‑native solutions.
• Ability to interpret vulnerability scan data and drive remediation actions.
