SW Development Engineer 2

About the role

As a SW Development Engineer 2 at Dexcom, you will design and build native Android applications that support our continuous glucose monitoring solutions. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
• Implement functional requirements and keep design documentation up to date.
• Research, evaluate, and adopt new technologies to improve development efficiency.
• Collaborate with software test teams to ensure product quality.
• Write automated unit and integration tests (Espresso, Mockito).
• Participate in design, code, and test reviews.
• Propose and implement enhancements for app sustainability and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of native Android development experience with Kotlin and at least 3 years of overall software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Coroutines, and asynchronous programming.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, MVP).
• Experience integrating REST APIs using Retrofit.
• Proven ability to build and maintain large‑scale, multi‑module Android applications.
• Attention to documentation, testing, and eliminating flaky tests.
• Experience working in Agile teams and using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions) and version‑control workflows (Git, GitFlow).
