Survey Manager / Engineer – TBM & NATM Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Survey Manager/Engineer with strong experience in TBM and NATM tunnel projects. The candidate will lead independent survey sections on site, ensuring accurate centre‑line marking, cross‑section surveys and overall survey quality for new tunnel alignments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform centre‑line marking for new tunnel lines and cross‑section surveys.
• Operate Total Stations (Leica, Sokia, Topcon, South) and modern instruments such as digital theodolites, auto levels and hand GPS.
• Conduct close‑traverse surveys, road alignment, leveling, volume calculations and curve setting.
• Supervise and assist junior team members, liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with OH&S procedures and survey monitoring protocols.
• Read and interpret drawings, perform marking, levelling, quality inspections and data accumulation.
• Generate construction layout surveys, precision measurements and horizontal/vertical control surveys.

Required profile

• Clear knowledge of traverse survey, tunnel profiler and AutoCAD.
• Hands‑on experience with NATM tunnel surveys and TBM tunnel surveying.
• Proven track record on tunnel projects using NATM methodology.
• Ability to work independently and manage a survey section on site.
• Strong communication skills for client liaison and team coordination.
