Staff Software Engineer - Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to design, operate, and support a multi‑cloud platform for the dbt Cloud product. The role focuses on building reliable, observable, and developer‑friendly infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will work on medium‑size projects, collaborate with architecture, release engineering, product, and security teams, and help shape the future of our multi‑cloud offering.

Key responsibilities

• Design, operate, and support infrastructure systems with parity across single‑tenant and multi‑tenant models on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, and related tooling.
• Build observability and monitoring solutions with DataDog and improve developer experience.
• Identify and implement cost‑optimization measures without compromising reliability.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and continuously improve tooling to reduce manual toil.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern infrastructure tooling.
• Proven ability to work asynchronously in a fully remote, distributed team with strong written communication.
